Rescuing O-rings
 

Anyone out there know if you can save dried out O-rings? After a game a while back I forgot to fill two of my grenades before putting them away, and now they leak, v.e.r.y. sloooowly, but leak they do.

So far I've tried a bit of grease on them to no avail. If they need to be replaced, are these sizes common? I don't feel like dishing out 15 euro for a "King Arms" grenade o-ring!

Remove the O-Rings, leave them to soak in silicone overnight, apply a small amount of thick grease into the channel for the O-Ring, fit O-Ring back, apply thin layer of grease ontop of O-Ring.. using thick grease is advisable... I have used high-lithium water-pump grease and it's served me well (up until i decided to use liquid gasket, but that's on my pistol mags)

i usually 'dip' my O-Rings in the grease to make sure i have a generous layer.

if there's any cracking, just replace it as it will eventually leak. if it's just dry, a silly oil bath works.

cracked or badly mangled.. no point in taking it apart _again_ if you know it's not going to hold.

sorry for necro post didnt think i should make a new thread. sorta same problem need a little spoon feed. both my mags are leaking. i replaced one of the new fill valves and it still leaked. im thinking mabey it has something to do with my metal adaptor? i left both fill valves sit in oil and still leaking. what type of oil specifically should i look for?

Are you 100% it from the fill valve? Gas it up and put in under water and see that it's not leaking out the main seal. If it is the fill valve, take it out, Teflon tape the threads and reinstall the valve.
