Issues With SRC G36...
 

Ok, so recently I was at a scrim, firing away, when my gun stopped shooting. I still haven't been able to figure out what's wrong with it. When I pull the trigger with the battery connected, I can feel trigger response (there is just that slight resistance), but nothing else. Any suggestions would be appreciated...

You are using a small/discharged battery and you jammed the mechbox?

Ok, thanks for the reply...so to be clear, when my battery was dying down, the mech box jammed. How would I fix this problem, or is it off to a gun doc?

Cycle it with a very larger battery, or trigger the anti-reversal latch. (If you don't know what it is, better off going to a gundoc)

Depending on how comfortable you are with opening your gun up, you could always try to diagnose the issue yourself.

Thanks! But I have annother scrim next weekend, so if it is at all possible, could you tell me how to trigger the anti-reversal latch to do it myself and avoid using a s*** loaner then, 'Banghead' haha

Edit: Thanks for the link Josh, I certainly will try that, but once I get the mechbox out, how would I know if it is jammed?

common sense..... and logical thinking... since you're doing it yourself... :P

BTW: dont touch the gear shimming when you open the gearbox, or you'll have serious problesm with your gun....

PS: what battery are you using?

Ok, well common sense seems when it comes to fixing guns seems to forget to include me haha, but I have a 9.6v 1600 mah battery. Is this the cause of the problem?

What kind of battery could I use to unjam the mechbox? Would using a large battery not be hard on the gun?

but ya... opening a mechbox is easy... but putting it back together is the tough part... XD

but seriously, when you open the gearbox or even before opening one, do your research, and try to figure out how it works....

did you try shooting it with a charged battery yet?

That's exactly how I learned. I went to that site and found a tutorial for one of my guns. Watched it a couple times, said "screw this" and opened the gun up and learned for myself. Was a rough run, took me about a month of tinkering with things to get it all back together. I even cracked open the gearbox and had a feel for that too!

Ohh s*** will I do that again? Probably, but with a cheaper gun that I don't mind if I screw it up.

If it's a stock new gen src you are hitting just below 400fps. Charge your battery and try firing a shot in semi. If that doesn't work to be honest I doubt cycling the ant reversal latch will work as this would man there is a more serious problem. A 9.6 mah should easily be able to handle that spring coupled with torque gears.

Pull the mechbox out of the G36. There's a takedown video on www.mechbox.com to show you how to do this.

Take the motor off. Grab a pair of needlenose pliars, pull up (gently) on the little latch that sits against the bevel gear (through where the motor connects). The mechbox should unwind.

I had to chance to practice on walmart m4 crapsoft gearbox before opening mine... :P
