Custom AK with bipod in handguard.
Out of boredom I decided to customize my TM clone AK. just cut/epoxied the lower hand guard so a bipod could connect to the barrel.

Why? Why?! WHY?!
What is so wrong with putting the bipod on the exposed barrel? |
found it to be too far forward... and that would have been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy too easy
That looks like utter shit.
In other news, i'm starting a rescue shelter for abused Kalashnikovs. |
Yuk
=( poor abused AK. it looks like a drunk bum took a chunk out of it with an axe.
should have mounted the bipod to the barrel infront of foregrip!
Poor Ak, Ewwwww
The handguard just became useless.
Jesus christ...
Well.. Way to go.. You've ruined some wood. ... That doesn't even look functional.... wait.. Why the fuck do you even have a bipod on a AK? |
Fail. I really hope that grip was plastic. Poor AK:(
Disgusting. Utterly disgusting. You suck.

I'm not a fan, but everyone else seems to like it.
good response on this one eh.
so haggs |
Found out why multicam looks like barf after all.
Everyone else is so mean :( I think it looks quite nice, good job.
LOL, wow... that was awsome... I had no clue I could get that many people to hate me for modifying a gun... and the grips are plastic, I just did some work to make them look like real wood with a knife and sandpaper. ALSO the whole gun cost me $200, I bought it as a loner/beginnigs of a project gun, I'm going to get wood grips for it and wanted to do something different with what I had before I changed everything.
Well as long as that grip was going to waste anyway...
hell most of the gun is going to waste really, receiver, grips, rear sight assembly thingy... basically everything but the receiver cover, inner/outer barrels, front sight and mech box
YES finally shameless duct tape on an AK where it belongs.... BRAVO!
even if you had been drunk while you did this wouldnt forgive you...
You punched two HOLES through the wood, then you used GLUE? I mean, I gotta give you credit for being creative...but it seems like it's almost...permanant, and kinda ugly. I don't mind the tape on the magazine, though. Looks like something that could be authentic.
everything that has been perminantly glued I'm planning on replaceing at ther same time... plus to show you just how crappy that thig was before had, the back of the lower receiver as well as the stock broke off of the gun right after I posted up this thread.
I deny any involvement in this... I would have just fixed in place with duct tape...
Luckily he's right, the gun wasn't worth preserving. Once it's all fixed up with proper wood grips and all that jazz we can destroy all evidence of this Frankengun's existence. On the other hand, kudos for being original. |
=3 I'm original
at least if it was an RPK, for adding bipod
No duct tape :(
Still...an original look. |
Dear lord that is an ugly AK.
It's ok, it's a clone :p
Dude, just curious as to how much booze and/or weed is involved in your airsoft "mod" projects?
lol |
Lol, Talraga came out to my parents place with me for some one on one seek and destroy gaming and here is his reaction to when I handed him my AK to use because his M4 was giving us problems

I had to make sure the AIMS I'm working on was put away in the closet, lest it see this AK and have a nervous breakdown.
I'm just an AK purist.. |

I'm sort of an AK purist myself. There's something about the rugged simplicity and effectiveness of a basic AK that just appeals to me. Armalites and other guns look cool with all kind of mods and accessories, but to me, an AK will always look best bare. |
... That doesn't even look functional :(
Lol... again, at least my AK is unique... in a child born with pig head sorta unique, but still...
makes the AK more bulkier. the way i see it. :)
In all honesty, I like having the silencer on it... the bipod however... boredom+small saw = bad...
I tried my MP5's silencer on my Type 56, and it didn't look too bad. It makes it rather long and sort of awkward, but didn't look bad. If someone wanted to get great range out of their AK, the silencer could be used to concreal a long inner barrel. I wouldn't put one on myself for any other reason.
But I like my AKs virgin. The more gadgets it has, the less rugged it looks. And to me, the ruggedness is the appeal of the AK. Tacticool stuff looks much better on more modern, Western guns. |
well the only silencer that should ever go on an Ak is the really fricken fat ones. the one you have crunch, I don't think I'd like but mine(crap from old crapsoft gun) looks nice IMO.
Yeah, mine isn't the ideal for an AK that's for sure. But I don't plan on ever installing it again. It was done simply to see if it fit and what it looked like.
doesnt that defeat the whole purpose of a handguard if you stick a bipod right smack in the middle of it? I mean like, you wont be able to rest your hand there, you would have to hold your hand on the barrel, which is ill advised on the real steel counterparts, defeating the realism...
=3 I hold the receiver/mag area. so the bipod doesn't get in the way at all, also, having it there makes it a hell of allot less front heavy(compared to having the bipod on barrel).
