Sexy Tanaka 870

Apart from the horrid camera, quite possibly the sexiest airsoft 870 of all time. If I do say so myself.

I originally bough 30 shells, 25 buckshot, 5 slugshot, (cant use slug at the local cqb field), from lost pieces, inherent failures, and generally bad organization I think Im down to just over 20.

ohhoohhoho.... I am just evil:

Its by far the most badass and generally awesome gun Ive ever owned, but its entirely tactically impractical. With an AEG, I can spray, spray, spray.... and then spray some more. But no matter how awesome this thing may be, it requires about a second after each shot to reload, a second during which everyone, including the person/people you were shooting at, knows you are defenseless. Its also full metal, so its pretty damn heavy, especially with lights, optics, grips and whatnot. But I can certainly live with this beast's few flaws... It is just so much damn fun to make people cry with. They pull up their shirts after games and show me the enormous bruises, I laugh sadistically, and go reload.

shooting it must be better than sex

Mysteryfish January 27th, 2008 03:01

you've obviously never had sex...

Andres January 27th, 2008 03:05

So I'm too lazy to go figure it out right now, but does that sexy beast only shoot one bb at a time?

attack-beaver January 27th, 2008 03:48

kinda reminds me of this

I lol'd at that one! Just like all the women who say, "Size doesn't matter, it's how you use it" ..ugghh...yeah...you're a virgin, aren'tcha!

FOX_111 January 27th, 2008 10:16

What is in the Slugs shell?
I did not knew that existed.

Cassius January 27th, 2008 10:33

You got a Magpul t-shirt???

EDIT:

Fox, check out RedWolf airsoft with Clarence Lai's stuff. He's the guy that came up with the Slugshots.

I want!
Look like it's too hot for CQB, but using Duster it might be ok.

SEALs January 27th, 2008 12:35

Damn that hot with the slugs shells. I gotta put my hands on one of these.

ProbeJax January 27th, 2008 13:50

Very, very nice.

Non Credo January 27th, 2008 14:59

yeah, the slugs are hard plastic, not rubber. Available in 2 different weights, I have the heavier 3 gram ones. The buckshot shells will take maybe 6 or 7 bbs, I usually only load about 5 or 6, otherwise the cap at the top of the slug might just fall out when its chambered, and the bbs and cap just fall out of the barrel. You can fire anything you can fit in the shells... 8 mils...Staples... Glass... Poop. I have many ideas.

With propane the average fps with buck is around 320, with slug 360 in warm conditions. Limit at local field is 300 for aegs, 330 for gas guns, havent tried it with 134A yet because Ive heard it would be down at like 240-250.

tunabreath January 27th, 2008 15:36

I'd be more concerned about the muzzle energy of those slugs, although they do have a larger impact area...
Just did some quick calculations, 360fps (109m/s) with a 3g projectile, ~17.8 joules, right? Seems rather... high.
For comparison, 328fps with a 0.20g is only 1 joule.

I probably wouldn't mind, as long as I wasn't bonked on the nose with one or something. What's the effective range on one of those? Considering no rifling and no hop up, this pretty much IS a musket.

Like Tunabreath said, it's all about the joules, not the fps.

Those slugs are heavyer than BBs, that mean at the same fps, they are more painfull and damaging!

Non Credo January 27th, 2008 16:10

on the slugshot... Itll do almost 30 feet accurately with an average gas charge. If you fill the hell out of it obviously more gas, more power. This is another problem with this weapon, each and every shell must be disassembled, charged with gas, and then loaded with bbs before it can be fired. It takes me about 10 minutes if I actually focus to fill my 20 some odd shells, and if I should mess one up somehow, I could poke out and fire and either nothing happens, or its pathetic and bbs fly a few feet. This has happened, as as you can imagine, it kind of sucks. So its much less reliable than an aeg, just from simple user error you can have variations of as much as about 70-80 fps. Im thinking of selling it... Its just too expensive for something so problematic.

Nortus January 27th, 2008 23:28

The stock adapter was designed for use with iron sights. You should run a high-tube stock adapter if you want to run non-irons.

Non Credo January 27th, 2008 23:57

I never aim with that thing anyways... The aimpoints really just for looks, and the G&P upper RAS eliminates my line of sight through the ghost rings... so... it just really doesnt matter man. The only time Id ever have to aim is with slug, and I cant use that in games, besides which, Im pretty sure the iron sights alone overpower that gun in terms of accuracy. Like somebody said... Its a musket.

Amos January 28th, 2008 00:34

It's a little to tacticool for my taste...

If you lost all the stuff hanging on the rails It'd look a bit nicer IMO.

Non Credo January 28th, 2008 02:22

too tacticool?!
