RIP Katey
 

Today between 3:30pm and 4pm est Katey died due to complications with her diabeties.

She was the one that got me started in airsoft and bought me my first and many guns. Not long after that she was not able to play due to poor health. We were working to fix some of the health issues but she was taken from me way too soon.


I miss and love you Katey.


EDIT: Anyone wishing to donate on her behalf can donate to the canadian diabetic society. it wont help her but it may save some one else fom the same fate.

I really wish I'd gotten the chance to meet her but I'm glad that she's no longer in any pain and is now no longer limited to any constraints beholden to those still on this earth.

I lost my father due to complications of diabetes 8 years ago. I am also diabetic . . . so I know what you've experienced, but I can't claim to know how you feel. That's something private that each of us must deal with individually.

I can tell you that the hole in your heart, that place occupied by your friend, isn't really a hole. It is all pain and hurt now; in time, though, it will fill in with love and cherished memories.

I can't believe it... I read that and I couldn't move for a minute.... I didn't even know her, but I hadn't heard anything about her in forever, then bam.... My God...

May she rest in peace, and you find the strength to get through it.

Before the first time I even hit the field at an airsoft game I knew her name. I never met her and the few times I had the pleasure to play with you Lisa, I always wondered why Katey wasnt there. I am so sorry, I had no idea she was ill.

This really is a tragedy and it's really terrible it had to happen.I don't know you or Katey but just by what you would mention about her here and there and what people have said, I can tell she was a great person. On Saturday, July 22, Flag Raiders Old Field, we are dedicating this game in memory of Katey, as well as 7 selected members to do an honorary 21 AEG salute.

A moment of silence will also be held before the game in respect to Katey, her family, and of course, Lisa.

This airsoft community board has grown so much that sometimes I'd feel like I know a person by their forums post. It is sad that one of our members is now gone and it's just as sad that some of us didn't get a chance to meet her.

It's never easy to lose someone to a disease or specific body malfunctions, but it takes them away from alot of pain. All I've heard about her are good things, and I can assure you she was much loved.

I lost my grandmother as a result of diabetes complications, I've been in your shoes to a degree. I'm not sure if Katey was your sister, friend, cousin, lover, or what have you; what I do know is that you spoke fondly of her in the forums and it's never easy one bit to say goodbye to someone you love.
