+1 to that.
When they make stripper clips for airsoft I'm all over it, until then I'll try for as many rounds as I can get. |
I agree Albertan,
I will never game this unless it's a ww2 milsim pops up in Nova Scotia. but I'll sure look pruddee when I play dress up ;-) |

what brand, and how do you like it so far? |

I am please so far. Only crticism I have is changing the mags that go in the lower. They just appear sit in there snug by design. No catch. The wood is strong so it shouldn't wear down to a point that the mag will just fall out. Swapping these out is no easy task. Especially with wool gloves one. Seems you have to almost pry them out. |

Only a quick video so far;

Its $780 at an Asian retailer.
Cant wait for IWA 2013. MG34! |
780?
Way too ouch... |

Received my Nagant revolver today. Quick review soon.
(First one in Canada?) |
Some quick photos for now:
Box. This thing would make a typographer cry. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...pse58f46ff.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...psf3b13401.jpg Inside. I find it neat that they have the parts diagram inside the box. Gives me a reason to keep it! http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ps0edfcec9.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...ps026aaa2c.jpg |
First thoughts about it?
Could almost pass as a Webley |

First thoughts:
Really impressed with the build. Its very solid and hefty and has a really smooth trigger (Moreso than the real deal.) I'm going to magnet test it and see whether its made out of steel or not. I haven't had a chance to fire it yet, but so far most of the features of the real gun is present. Except for the advancing cylinder. It uses a similar system that the wingun 700 revolvers use, with the spring loaded barrel to make a seal to the cylinder. Kind of a meh thing, but its understandable. Neglecting that feature takes stress off of the parts, and makes it easier to shoot in general. Just hoping spare shells come out soon... Now to go buy myself a holster! Quote:

This just released on EhobbyAsia. What is AY and is it any good?
http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/ay-m1918-...e-bar-aeg.html |
Probably the OEM of the Echo1 BAR. Its a VFC clone.

Next to my Tanaka SAA. Note the screw-holes on the right side of the gun. When I refinish the guns metal, i'm gonna see if I can create a way to hide them. |

Oh god... that box is atrocious.
|
Had the Nagant for a few weeks and have been playing around with it. It has enough power on the first shot to make a slight hole in a canvas duster coat at 10 feet. That's some scary FPS coming out of that thing. I'm looking for a way I can lower the fps down to proper pistol range (330-280).

I'm thinking of filing down the contact part of the striker valve to see if that will affect it. Thoughts? |
does anyone know anything about the k98 springer that recently came out.. like.. WHERE TO GET ONE?

Fuji, if you have a line on some can you pm me the info too possibly??
|
Same here... Very interested!
|
I find it weird that only 1 retailer carries them..

It's worth a shot but it's permanent so maybe hold off. I was thinking of cracking it open and seeing if I can't install a weaker hammer spring. That shouldn't vent as much gas. To bad there isn't a hop up on the thing. |
Quote:
If you look at the valve diagram, it could be possible to change the valve spring for a stiffer or slightly longer one. Or maybe putting some shims in the valve assembly near part 7-10. |

who has coverage of IWA2013? I want to see the pictures.
|
A little bit off topic but Izhmash made AK74 AEG should be making an appearance at IWA2013 as well. Seeing some coverage from there would be nice.
|
Yeah I'd like to have a look at that MG 34.

Are you joking? Izhmash making an airsoft AK? That would be fantastic! |

The MG34 is a limited edition replica and only a few hundred was produced. I think I was the only one who was interested how the gearbox looks like so here it is. The magazine is connected to the body via a BB feeder tube. And the sound activated motorized high capacity magazine will help you spray the area if you are strong enough to carry it all day. i mean without internals. just the frame |
This was posted on April 1st, so it might be an April's fool, but here it is:
http://airsoftodyssey.blogspot.co.uk...3-special.html According to them, the top secret feature on the G&G M1 Garand is a crappy internal high capacity magazine. Similar to the Mosin Nagant's horrible feeding system, but holding 120 rounds. Looks like ICS has won that round. On the other hand, they are (finaly) showing new pics of their Springfield 1903 using the same gas system as their K98k, and I must admit I am tempted, it looks damn good! There is other stuff about their new gearbox, with supposedly a system that detects when regular AEG mags are empty. There were other reports of that on April 1st from other manufacturers, so it might very well be an April's fool. I will let people discuss it in another less interesting thread to reduce pollution in this one. |
I was understanding that the big secret on their M1 was that when the magazine was empty it would do the characteristic "ping" sound of the clip popping out. It proved too costly so they just scrapped the entire idea. That's what I heard anyway, I could be wrong.

i got a few parts sent to me from g&g this week they sent me the new flyer for guns like in there pics of the iwa show......anyway it says the receiver for the m1 is plastic |

On one hand.. the A&K M60 is around the $500 mark or so? That being based off the MG42, one could hope it's around that ball park.
Whatever though, want! |
polar star mg42...hmmm
|
Just a maybe :D
I've been toying with the idea of how to cram one in my AGM MP40. Expensive little trial and hopefully little error, but it would be totally worth it if it was to work out. |
On another note about another MG
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...00961328_n.jpg |
My faith is restored, years of devoted prayer.. and nothing.. and now
MG42 AND MG34 .. AND a spring k98 ( or is it actually vapour ) I can see this fuel some interest in WWII gaming |
Man, I wonder how much that MG34 is. It could be a nice mobile alternative to MG42.

From good rumors... A third of the Shoie MG42...

I've been trying to find a wingun nagant for a friend of mine and they seem to have suddenly all vanished. Ehobby and uncompany removed it from their site completely. There is CWI but they are selling it for 2 times the price. Anyone know why the Wingun nagants disappeared so suddenly?

Near the beginning of the year there was talk of a spring k98, any recent news on this?
|
Not really.
|
Crap!

Ugh, my ZL M44 mosins cylinder head broke. Anyone have a clue where I can get a replacement?

What's the best valued AEG BAR M1918? Echo 1?
