I've found more info, hooah! I just hope some of this will help retailers to get them.

So the gun was designed by Waterloo (http://waterloo.hk/english/index.asp) and is produced by A&K. Waterloo has also a bunch of other Magpul & al replicas.

A few reviews have also surfaced: http://www.airsoftfaqs.com/forum/vie...63c0b20aa4a020 (full review)
http://www.filairsoft.com/forum/showthread.php?p=520223 (some comments, but not a full review)

-470 fucking fps!!! That’s a nonsense.
-Mini tamiya connectors
-V2 geabox (with 470fps and that ROF, I’d say it’s probably somehow reinforced, lol)

This AEG is designed without having the real Masada on hand - it is still under development by Bushmaster until now.

Generally, this AEG worth every petot you will spend for it.

Comparing the Magpul Masada with the FN SCAR is like comparing a Ferrari to a Lamborghini, both are exotic but the there is one that has the edge.. it's the Masada that will sport the racing horse emblem and not the bull.

For the mean time, I have decided not to do the take down and upgrading in order to know which part of the stock parts will give in first.

it's the kind of plastic, i guess, used in the real steel.. very hard.. parang yung sa Glock na polymer lower receiver - even tougher than materials used recently in SCARS of G&G, CA, and VFC because it's thicker. you can't pinch it..
Interesting info!

EDIT: Even better: the manual! http://www.waterloo.hk/aspupload/200...20RIFLE(1).pdf
Retailers: contact the designer to get them done in cansoft? I'm dreaming so much :) http://waterloo.hk/english/contact.asp (Some cansoft that's not MP5 or Armalite... oh, dear jizz lol)

EDIT2: http://www.filairsoft.com/forum/show...7&postcount=70
People who got it are saying it's LiPo ready. I guess that where they took that insane ROF.

I wonder how they get the mag release to work from both sides...

DuffMan February 9th, 2009 00:44

This was 'released' to the UK, but apparently Magpul put a stop to it. Rumour says only 5 made it into the country. One of them is for sale on the Zeroin boards for 200some GBP.

the real story behind this masada is that, this is made in china. the china company is hiding under the radar of Magpul coz if they're caught, they're dead! :smack:

what the china company did was that they took internal parts from A&K and other brands and used them to fit it into the masada frame they built. Thus the reason why some say it's A&K, some ACM...

Some Hong Kong Airsoft suppliers ordered these masada replica but they were seized by local authorities with the help of Magpul of course. Magpul is very strict and will really run after replicas being bought by suppliers.

The only problem of Magpul is that they have power and control over countries w/c have let's just say "efficient police" and those that respect intellectual property rights. So countries like UK, US, Europe, Hong Kong etc... will have a hard time acquiring these replicas as they will definitely be seized by local authorities. On the other hand, other countries (like mine :D) that aren't like those mentioned above can acquire these replicas easily and the really good thing about them is that they're cheap! Around ($162 - $187):D

So for people who live in countries like US and was able to get a Magpul Masada airsoft replica, consider youselves mothaF*ing lucky!! Keep them safe and make sure you don't get caught!:D

I'm getting one soon!

It's very hard to get it out of Asia, you'd have to look a lot, email people, etc. It's quite easy to find in Philipines, but they don't export, so...

A good company starts making it? Magpul PTS is working on it, it's in their 2009 catalog. There's a link to their catalog in a recent news.

Its probably being made by the company in China that is now offering it out the back door re-branded... not like that has not happened before.

Conker March 10th, 2009 18:13

Seriously, I wouldn't be very surprised at all. Reviews I've watched are saying it's a damn good gun, especially at its 150-170$ US price point... Sure the Magpul branded version, if what you said happends, would probably cost more, but should be worth it :D

Brian, do you have an exemple of this?

I'm thinking that Ares and STAR is somehow that, but it's more because the contract has ended...
There's plenty of exemples in accessories (the UFC and "generic" chinese EOTech red dots are the same as the G&P). But is there any for guns themselves?

JoeyJackhammer March 10th, 2009 20:03

This ACM Masada is modeled after a discontinued, pre-production prototype. Wait for an official release for a proper ACR

daveok March 10th, 2009 20:27

I don't like how it fires at 470, apart from that I would buy it. For the money (150 - 170) it seems to be a good buy.

Conker March 10th, 2009 20:33

I don't care if it's not the original... Hell, it would even be cool to own both the Masada (pre-prod) and ACR (prod) versions.<

If I can get my hand on the ACM, I will. When I turn 18, that is.

Hk-GUY March 11th, 2009 01:43

Great!!! I found a connection to get one!! I will have to deck this baby out in all the uber top notch goddies just like I used on my HK416. Another money pit for me to have fun with!! Cant wait to get this Lakota Multicam coated.

screwdriver March 11th, 2009 14:36

duff man in cad pats .it was for sale on the zeroin forum until i bought it.
for a clone the gun is very well made, dismantles as the origional does 350 fps out the box, the 470fps stated is bollockz.
and the best part is wherever you play nobody knows what it is and keeps asking where you can get it
