also, would it be ok to shoot on personal property?

really? go look up Bass Pro or Canadian Tire for some .177 cal air guns. If you're only going to be target shooting, it's much more economical to get something like a Daisy or a Remington. Well under $300.

Will be tons more accurate than a stock WELL bolt action rifle unless your target is only 20-30 feet from you, then what's the point.

what kind of personal property? unless you are in a rural area which allow for the discharge of guns/airguns you won't be able to sit in your yard and shoot.

where are you located? you'll need to check with your local bylaws to make sure you're allowed to target shoot.

Also be careful, some pellet guns you must have a PAL license to own. The ones you get from Canadian Tire 99% of the time should be safe (it must shoot under 500 FPS, with most being at the 495 FPS level).

Some of these pellet guns can get pretty expensive though (Anschutz biathlon rifles or target rifles can get pretty expensive that that's like top of the line stuff right there) but are way more accurate than an airsoft gun.

I suggest going to Canadian Tire and picking up a Daisy (The Avanti series "Legend" model is pretty good for target shooting). There's also the Daisy-Winchester line that they teamed up to do together and the Daisy Powerline series.

Then with Crosman there's a few you can get. I like the look of the Nightstalker and most of their CO2 line. but they still make "break barrel" and competition rifles as well.

Good luck.
